Job Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare menus based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality food according to recipes and standards.
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff and delegate tasks.
• Ensure food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain food quality, taste, and presentation consistency.
• Monitor food stock levels and order ingredients as needed.
• Inspect deliveries to ensure ingredients are fresh and of good quality.
• Control food costs and minimize waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and safe at all times.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report any repairs or maintenance required.
• Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants.
• Manage portion control and ensure consistency in serving sizes.
• Handle customer feedback related to food quality and make improvements where necessary.
• Work closely with restaurant management to achieve operational and financial goals.
• Monitor kitchen budgets and help control operating expenses.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and health regulations.
• Assist during special events, catering services, and promotional activities.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in professional kitchen operations
• Culinary Skills: Proficient in Western, Asian, or fusion cuisines; strong menu planning and presentation skills
• Leadership: Able to supervise, train, and mentor a team of up to 10 staff
• Operational Knowledge: Skilled in food cost control, inventory management, portion control, and budget monitoring
• Language: Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin
• Availability: Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
