The Assistant IT Manager supports day-to-day IT operations for a multi-site airport environment, ensuring high availability of systems that directly impact trading operations—especially POS, payments, store connectivity, and frontline user support. This role suits someone with hands-on technical depth, a strong service mindset, and experience supporting F&B, hospitality, or retail environments where downtime is costly and speed matters.

Main Responsibilities:

Operations & Support

• Provide on-site IT leadership and escalation support across F&B and Lounges across the airport environment.
• Ensure high uptime for store/restaurant systems including POS, payment terminals, back-office PCs, printers, handhelds, Wi-Fi, and connectivity.
• Own incident response for business-critical issues (POS outages, network drops, payment failures), including vendor coordination and follow-through.
• Maintain and improve IT service delivery: ticket handling, prioritization, SLA performance, and root-cause analysis.

POS & Retail Technology

• Support POS environments (Ideally Oracle Simphony) (installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting) and related peripherals:
• Receipt/Kitchen printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers, label printers, handheld devices.
• Enterprise platform support such as Inventory, ERP and Lounge management systems.
• Support integrations with payment gateways, e-wallets, and reporting platforms (where applicable).

Networking & Infrastructure – Cyber Security

• Provide strong hands-on support for LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi in a multi-outlet environment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain switches, access points, VLANs, DHCP/DNS fundamentals, and structured cabling.
• Good understanding of Cyber Security and ISO27001 fundamentals.

Person Specification Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in IT support and operations, preferably within retail, F&B, hospitality, or other customer-facing environments.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise technology platforms, including but not limited to POS systems, Finance applications, Microsoft 365, and the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience across networking, end-user devices, and workplace technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and operational requirements.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders and teams across multiple Asia Pacific countries and time zones.

Technical Skills

• Experience supporting POS environments, including peripherals, payment devices, store back-office systems, and basic POS application/database troubleshooting. Experience with Oracle Simphony is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of VLANs, switching concepts, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, basic firewall and routing principles, structured cabling, and on-site technical support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows endpoint support, identity and access management, and Microsoft 365 administration. Basic programming or automation skills, particularly in Python, would be an advantage.
• Security-focused mindset with experience in patch management, access controls, secure system configuration, vulnerability awareness, and incident escalation processes.
• Experience leveraging AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies to enhance productivity, improve business operations, and drive efficiency while adhering to cybersecurity and data governance standards.
