We are seeking an experienced Heavy Machinery Operations Manager to lead our operations team and oversee the efficient deployment and management of our heavy machinery fleet.
Job Summary
The Heavy Machinery Operations Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and supervision of heavy machinery operations, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client requirements. This role oversees equipment utilization, manpower planning, maintenance coordination, project scheduling, and compliance with safety and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the Heavy Machinery Division.
- Plan and coordinate the deployment of heavy machinery, cranes, operators, and supporting personnel to project sites.
- Ensure optimum utilization of machinery while minimizing downtime.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, project managers, and site personnel regarding equipment scheduling and operational requirements.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely mobilization and demobilization of equipment.
- Work closely with the workshop and maintenance team to ensure machinery is serviced, inspected, and available for operation.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend repair, replacement, or fleet expansion where necessary.
- Ensure all operators possess valid licences, competency certificates, and required statutory certifications.
- Ensure compliance with DOSH, CIDB, and all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
- Lead toolbox meetings and promote a strong safety culture across all operations.
- Investigate operational incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare operational reports, utilization reports, manpower planning, and performance analysis for Management.
- Develop and coach supervisors, operators, riggers, signalmen, and operational staff.
- Assist Management in budgeting, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing heavy machinery, construction equipment, or crane operations.
- Proven experience leading operational teams in the construction or heavy equipment industry.
- Strong knowledge of heavy machinery, crawler cranes, mobile cranes, excavators, and construction equipment.
- Good understanding of lifting operations, site coordination, and equipment deployment.
- Familiar with DOSH, CIDB, OSHA, and other statutory requirements relating to heavy equipment operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Possess a valid driving licence.
- Willing to travel to project sites when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a heavy equipment rental or crane service company.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and fleet management.
- Experience supporting large-scale construction, infrastructure, industrial, or oil & gas projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high service standards.
Pay: RM6,500.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
