Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Responsible for rendering professional care and treatment to patients within an assigned hospital unit. Such care is an integral part of the individualized, holistic patient care plan as directed by the Medical Officer or Consultant according to the Hospital Policies and Procedures.
ROLE AS MEDICAL ASSISTANT IN ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY
- Provide safe, holistic nursing care in Accident & Emergency in line with the hospital’s vision, mission, and standards.
- Work shifts as scheduled and report any changes affecting patient care to the Nurse Manager and Medical Officer.
- Perform triage, initial assessments, full examinations, and document care accurately in the Hospital Information System.
- Prioritize and manage emergency and life-threatening conditions with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications, IV infusions, phlebotomy, wound dressing, and assist in minor procedures as required.
- Communicate and coordinate patient care with doctors, consultants, and other departments.
- Ensure proper handover, monitor patient progress, and complete all shift-related orders.
- Support patient transfers, ambulance cases, admissions, discharges, and death case management.
- Maintain medical equipment functionality and assist the Nurse
- Manager in smooth A&E operations.
- Carry out additional duties, rotations, or emergency tasks as assigned by supervisors.
EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Medical Assistant and registered with the Malaysian
- Board of Medical Assistants with a valid practicing license.
- Post-basic qualification in a related field or a preferred Bachelor of Science.
- Proficient in written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Caring, honest, responsible, and professional.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, on-call, and during emergencies as required.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
