Purchasing Officer

Location: Hospital Sultan Idris Shah Serdang, Selangor

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to manage the procurement of food ingredients, kitchen consumables, equipment, and other operational supplies for our hospital catering services. The successful candidate will ensure timely purchasing, cost control, and uninterrupted supply to support daily operations.

Responsibilities

- Source and purchase food ingredients, consumables, and operational supplies.

- Obtain quotations and negotiate with suppliers for the best pricing and quality.

- Issue Purchase Orders (PO) and monitor order status until delivery.

- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.

- Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock when required.

- Verify deliveries against purchase orders and invoices.

- Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier documentation.

-Evaluate supplier performance and identify new suppliers.

- Work closely with the kitchen, store, and operations teams to meet daily requirements.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, and halal requirements.

Requirements

- Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Minimum 1 year of purchasing or procurement experience (food service or hospital industry is an advantage).

- Good negotiation and communication skills.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.

- Able to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines.

- Responsible, organised, and detail-oriented.
