Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for managing the Company's accounting functions to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely statutory compliance, and effective financial control. The role oversees the preparation of full sets of accounts, supports budgeting and cash flow management, liaises with external stakeholders, and contributes to continuous improvement of accounting processes while ensuring compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), company policies, and applicable statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting

  • Prepare, maintain, and manage the Company's full sets of accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all accounting transactions are properly recorded and supported with appropriate documentation.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are accurately reconciled.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.

2. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
  • Review supplier invoices and process payments in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor customer collections and outstanding balances.
  • Verify employee expense claims and reimbursement requests.

3. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Assist in analysing financial performance and identifying significant variances.
  • Provide financial information and reports to Management as required.

4. Budgeting & Cash Flow

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate working capital.
  • Support financial planning and cost control initiatives.

5. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory payments and related documentation, including EPF, SOCSO, EIS, SST, withholding tax, and other applicable statutory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Companies Act, taxation requirements, and internal financial policies.
  • Maintain proper accounting records for audit and regulatory purposes.

6. Audit & External Liaison

  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretaries, and relevant government authorities.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents during internal and external audits.
  • Assist in implementing audit recommendations and corrective actions.

7. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Review accounting processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with established financial procedures and company policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance Department.

8. Team Support

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to junior accounting staff where applicable.
  • Assist in training new team members on accounting procedures and company policies.
  • Foster teamwork and promote a positive working environment.

9. Other Responsibilities

  • Perform any other accounting, finance, or administrative duties assigned by Management from time to time.
  • Support cross-functional projects and business initiatives as required.

Job RequirementsEducation

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) is an added advantage but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.
  • Experience in handling full sets of accounts is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
  • Knowledge of Malaysian taxation, SST, payroll, and statutory compliance (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and Income Tax) is an advantage.
  • Experience using accounting software such as , SQL Accounting, UBS, QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
