We are seeking a Assistant Manager/Manager to support the development and implementation of MOLLY, NLB's mobile library service that promotes the love of reading among families, persons with disabilities, and underserved communities. This role focuses on leading the strategic development and management of MOLLY's services, as well as building community partnerships and collaborations to expand programme reach.

[What you will be working on]

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to grow and sustain MOLLY's services and outreach.
  • Experience in designing and evaluating community programmes, with the ability to use data and insights to inform improvements.
  • Ability to identify gaps in service delivery and propose innovative solutions to better serve target communities.
  • Promote MOLLY’s library collection and services during outreaches, including providing book recommendations and setting up book displays.
  • Engage library patrons by conducting programmes, such as storytelling sessions and roadshows.
  • Provide quality customer service and maintain excellent service standards, including handling email queries, membership registrations, and customer service follow-ups.
  • Manage temporary staff and volunteers in engaging library patrons and stakeholders. This includes training and guiding them on patron enquiries, customer service, collection maintenance and user education on MOLLY’s facilities and services.
  • Ensure MOLLY’s facilities are well maintained to meet both operational and customers’ needs.
  • Support MOLLY operations including preparing staff roster, conducting site recces, supervising drivers, compiling reports and statistics, crisis and incident management, financial matters, and systems and administrative support etc.
  • Engage partners and stakeholders and build network to promote MOLLY’s library collection and services.

[What we are looking for]

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in programme management, community outreach, engagement, partnership development, or similar role.
  • Passion for promoting reading and serving families, persons with disabilities and underserved communities is an advantage.
  • Good analytical, written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good customer service and engagement skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Ability to supervise staff and maintain quality standards.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to provide logistics support, including carrying boxes of books.
  • Willingness to perform shift work, including on weekends.

You will be based at Jurong Library and be required to go on islandwide outreaches on the MOLLY bus.

Successful applicants will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
