Title: Electrical Commissioning Lead

Type: Contract

Duration: 1 year

Location: Miri, Sarawak

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning & Start-Up

• Lead discipline-specific commissioning and start-up activities for CCGT power plant systems.
• Verify that plant equipment and systems comply with design requirements, project specifications, and vendor recommendations.
• Support construction-to-commissioning and commissioning-to-operations handover activities.
• Review and monitor commissioning schedules, work packs, procedures, and execution plans.
• Ensure commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.

System Completion & Testing

• Conduct system walkdowns and inspections to verify readiness for commissioning.
• Identify, monitor, and close punch-list items and outstanding works.
• Review and validate completion dossiers and turnover documentation.
• Monitor equipment testing, flushing, cleaning, preservation, and functional checks.
• Ensure accurate capture of as-built changes and engineering modifications.

Leadership & Coordination

• Provide technical direction to commissioning engineers, technicians, and contractor personnel.
• Coordinate closely with construction, operations, engineering, vendors, and owner's representatives.
• Support planning and execution of critical milestones including:
• Mechanical completion
• System turnover
• Chemical cleaning
• Steam blows
• Initial start-up
• Synchronization
• Performance testing
• Plant handover

Documentation & Compliance

• Review commissioning procedures and startup packages.
• Ensure all commissioning records and test documentation are properly maintained.
• Monitor management of:
• Spare parts
• Consumables
• Deficiency lists
• Outstanding work registers
• Ensure compliance with project instructions, contractual obligations, and commissioning standards.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in power generation, plant operations, commissioning, or start-up activities.
• Minimum 5 years in a Lead Commissioning, Start-up, or Operations role on Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plants, or Gas turbine power generation projects.
• Proven experience supporting projects through commissioning, testing, and handover to operations.
• Right to work in Sarawak
