About the role

JH Bersatu Sdn Bhd is seeking a Customer Service & Billing Assistant to join our retail operations team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences whilst maintaining accurate billing and financial records. As Customer Service & Billing Assistant, you will be the frontline representative of our company, responsible for processing transactions, resolving customer inquiries, and ensuring all billing operations run smoothly. This role is essential to our retail operations and directly contributes to customer satisfaction and retention.

What you'll be doing

1. Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchasing needs and product inquiries

2. Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash, card, and other payment methods

3. Generate and process customer invoices and billing statements with precision

4. Address customer complaints and concerns professionally, escalating complex issues to management when necessary

5. Maintain accurate records of all billing transactions and reconcile daily cash registers

6. Stock shelves and ensure product displays are organised and visually appealing

7. Provide product recommendations based on customer needs and preferences

8. Process returns and exchanges according to company policy

9. Assist with inventory management and stock checking as required

10. Support promotional activities and communicate special offers to customers

What we're looking for

1. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour

2. Strong numerical and mathematical abilities for accurate billing and cash handling

3. Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills

4. Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions and maintaining records

5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment

6. Strong communication skills in English and local languages (Trilingual)

7. Reliability and punctuality with a positive attitude towards work

8. Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively during peak hours

9. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy items

10. Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not essential for enthusiastic candidates

11. A willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes
