Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Quality Control Manager to establish, implement, and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System to ensure plastic components meet customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for a quality professional with experience in a start-up manufacturing environment who can build quality processes from the ground up while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Quality Control team to ensure product quality through incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality control procedures, work instructions, inspection standards, and quality documentation.
  • Establish and enhance quality systems and inspection processes suitable for a start-up manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure products comply with customer specifications, semiconductor industry requirements, and applicable quality standards.
  • Monitor and analyze quality KPIs, including defect rate, customer complaints, yield, First Pass Yield (FPY), scrap rate, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints, internal quality issues, and supplier quality concerns, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, qualification activities, and continuous process improvements.
  • Ensure all measuring and inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Coordinate internal quality audits and support customer, supplier, and certification audits.
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
  • Ensure compliance with cleanroom practices, contamination control, ESD requirements, and semiconductor customer expectations where applicable.
  • Manage non-conforming materials and ensure timely disposition.
  • Develop and monitor supplier quality performance and incoming quality inspection programs.
  • Prepare quality performance reports and present findings during management review meetings.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop QC Inspectors and Quality Engineers to strengthen technical competency and team performance.
  • Drive a culture of quality, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of Quality Control experience in precision plastic manufacturing.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Experience in the semiconductor, electronics, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong cost control and cost reduction skills, with the ability to identify quality improvement opportunities while optimizing operational costs.
  • Proven experience in building, leading, and managing a high-performing Quality Control team, including coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing start-up environment, including setting up quality systems, inspection processes, and documentation from the ground up.
  • Strong knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes, including injection moulding, secondary processes, assembly, and packaging.
  • Familiar with semiconductor customer quality requirements and precision manufacturing standards.
  • Good knowledge of SPC, SQC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and CAPA methodologies.
  • Experience handling customer audits, supplier audits, and certification audits.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001. Experience with IATF 16949 and/or ISO 13485 is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring equipment, including CMM, Vision Measurement Systems, Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, and other inspection instruments.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with ERP/MES quality modules is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing start-up manufacturing environment.
  • Able to speak Mandarin is preferred to facilitate communication with Mandarin-speaking customers, suppliers, and production personnel.
  • Candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period are highly preferred.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
