Role Description The Assistant Manager – Cost & Contract is a full-time, on-site role based in Sungai Petani. This position supports the planning, management, and control of project costs and contracts from pre-tender to post-contract stages. Responsibilities typically include preparing feasibility study , cost estimates and budgets, evaluating and analyzing tender submissions and assisting in contract drafting, negotiation, and contract administration. The role involves monitoring project expenditures, verifying progress claims, variations, and final accounts and ensuring compliance with company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Manager – Cost & Contract will collaborate closely with project management teams, consultants and contractors to maintain cost efficiency, mitigate risks and support timely project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in feasibility study, cost estimation, budgeting and cost control for property development projects.
  • Candidates should possess skills in contract administration, tender evaluation and negotiation with consultants, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Candidates should possess skills in data analysis via AI, attention to details and financial reporting to support decision-making and project tracking.
  • Candidates should possess skills in project coordination, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., MS Excel, cost management systems, contract management tools) and basic familiarity with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of industry standards, procurement processes, and applicable regulations related to construction and property development.
  • A diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying along with several years of relevant experience in cost and contract roles.
  • Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and a commitment to ethical, transparent, and detail-oriented work practices.
