Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Support
- Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of low-voltage (LV) electrical systems, including lighting circuits, distribution boards, ventilation fans, irrigation pump panels, and related electrical equipment.
- Support the Chargeman A1 in routine maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, switchboard operations, and minor installation works.
- Replace fuses, lamps, switches, sockets, and other electrical accessories within the scope of the A0 Chargeman certification.
- Carry out basic preventive maintenance to ensure electrical systems remain safe and operational.
Inspection & Monitoring
- Perform routine visual inspections and basic functional testing of electrical circuits, sockets, and LV equipment.
- Monitor equipment condition and promptly report abnormalities such as overheating, damaged components, loose connections, or voltage irregularities.
- Assist in identifying potential electrical issues before they develop into equipment failures.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate daily maintenance records, inspection checklists, and work logbooks.
- Ensure all tools, testing instruments, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are properly maintained and ready for use.
- Support compliance with the Electricity Supply Act, Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations, and company electrical safety procedures.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Comply with all electrical safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of electrical rooms, distribution board areas, and maintenance workspaces.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, or electrical hazards to the supervisor without delay.
RequirementsQualifications
- Valid Chargeman A0 Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission Malaysia).
- Minimum SPM/SPMV or equivalent qualification, preferably with credits in Mathematics or Science.
- Successful completion of an A0 Chargeman competency course from a recognized training provider.
Experience
- Fresh graduates and newly certified A0 Chargemen are encouraged to apply.
- Up to one (1) year of experience in electrical maintenance, facilities management, or industrial environments is an advantage.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to use common electrical hand tools and basic test instruments such as a multimeter.
- Good record-keeping, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical competencies.
Other Requirements
- Physically fit and able to work in outdoor and agricultural environments.
- Able to work independently under supervision and as part of a team.
- Willing to participate in training and progress toward Chargeman A1 certification.
- Willing to work in Cameron Highlands.
