Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, spare parts, and tools in accordance with purchase orders and delivery documentation.

  • Properly store, label, and organize all inventory items in designated storage areas following warehouse layout standards and safety requirements.

  • Issue materials, spare parts, and tools to maintenance teams based on approved requisition forms and authorized requests.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs and/or computerized inventory management systems.

  • Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and physical inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy and reconciliation.

  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages, excess stock, or slow-moving items to the supervisor for replenishment planning.

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of sensitive, high-value, or critical rolling stock components.

  • Coordinate with procurement and maintenance teams to ensure timely availability of required spare parts and materials.

  • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the warehouse in compliance with 5S practices and occupational safety standards.

  • Ensure proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing stock movements in accordance with company procedures and audit requirements.

  • Support investigation and resolution of inventory discrepancies, damages, or loss cases.

  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts (if certified), pallet jacks, and material handling tools safely and responsibly.

  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (ISO standards) and internal warehouse control procedures.

  • Assist in disposal or scrapping processes of obsolete or damaged materials in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Warehouse Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Certification in forklift operation or material handling equipment is an added advantage.

  • Knowledge of inventory control principles and warehouse management practices.

  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Knowledge of occupational safety requirements and 5S practices.

  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO standards) is an advantage.

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in warehouse operations, storekeeping, inventory control, or material management.

  • Experience in managing spare parts and technical materials within railway, manufacturing, heavy industry, automotive, or engineering environments is preferred.

  • Experience in stock receiving, issuing, stock counting, and inventory reconciliation.

  • Familiarity with computerized inventory systems, ERP, or warehouse management systems (WMS).

  • Experience in handling critical, sensitive, or high-value components and maintaining proper documentation and audit records.
