Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Finance Executive is responsible for managing the financial operations, including accounting, payment processing, and monthly financial reporting. The role needs to ensure accurate records, cost control, and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Finance
• Input financial data into the accounting system accurately and in a timely manner, in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate monthly schedules and ensure they reconcile with accounting records and camp records
• Liaise with all related departments to facilitate timely monthly account closing
• Maintain proper documentation and filing
• Resolve discrepancies for all financial transactions
• Ensure timely submission of data from camp to HQ Finance for further processing
Payments & Claims
• Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and petty cash reimbursements
• Coordinate and handle petty cash payments
• Ensure timely payments and proper approval procedures
Procurement & Inventory Support
• Work with camp operations team on purchase requests and stock usage
• Monitor inventory-related costs and support stock/work in progress reconciliation
• Ensure procurement complies with approved budgets and policies
Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures
• Assist with audits (internal or external) by providing required documents
• Perform any other duties assigned by the superior from time to time
Others
- Perform general clerical duties
- Arranging and serving food and beverages for directors and guests and post-event cleanup, as needed
- Support meeting setup arrangements, as needed
- Support general office procurement, including groceries and stationery, as needed
Requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant working experience
• Knowledge of basic accounting double entry, accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to handle accounting software
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving, accuracy, and organizational skills
• Able to meet tight deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team
Working Conditions:
• Staff accommodation at the camp is provided at no charge
• Meals are provided at a nominal price at the camp
• Willing to work extended hours during peak periods
Additional Information:
• Based in Kota Kinabalu, with a requirement to travel and be stationed at the Sapulut Forest Reserve plantation camp for approximately 7 days per month
• Salary will be commensurate with experience
