IT Infrastructure Lead / Assistant Manager- Senai
Job Summary:
The IT Infrastructure Lead / Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of day-to-day IT operations across multiple manufacturing sites in Malaysia (Kulai and Kota Tinggi).
This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on maintaining high availability of IT systems supporting both production and office environments. The role requires strong expertise in network, server, storage, and security, combined with strong communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively engage with site leadership, production teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
The key objective is to minimize downtime, mitigate risks, and ensure consistent IT service delivery across all sites, while maintaining strong alignment with operational and business priorities align with corporate IT guidelines.
Responsibilities:
IT Operations & Stability
- Ensure continuous availability and performance of IT infrastructure across all sites o Initiate and manage assigned IT projects to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business objectives
- Manage daily operations for network, servers, storage, and endpoints
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and timely issue resolution
- Proactively monitor systems to prevent disruptions to production operations
- Drive continuous improvement in system uptime, stability, and service reliability
Multi-Site Infrastructure Coordination
- Oversee IT infrastructure operations across multiple manufacturing plants and sites o Ensure standardization of IT practices, configurations, and controls
- Coordinate with site IT teams for execution, escalation, and issue resolution o Act as the technical escalation point for complex or critical infrastructure issues
Infrastructure Management (Hands-on)
- Support and manage: o Network (LAN, WAN, firewall, Wi-Fi)
- Servers & virtualization (on-prem / cloud)
- Storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems o Endpoint devices and patching compliance
- Ensure appropriate capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management
Manufacturing & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage closely with Plant Management, Production Leaders, and key operational stakeholders
- Effectively communicate IT risks, issues, and mitigation plans in business terms
- Align IT services with production priorities and operational requirements
- Support manufacturing systems (MES, shopfloor systems, IT/OT integration) o Ensure minimal IT-related disruption to manufacturing processes.
Security & Risk Management
- Enforce infrastructure security standards and best practices
- Support vulnerability remediation, patching, and endpoint protection
- Collaborate with Corporate IT on security incidents, audits, and compliance
- Implement network segmentation and risk mitigation controls, especially for manufacturing/OT environments.
Service Desk & Support Oversight
- Ensure effective end-user support across sites
- Monitor Ticket resolution timelines and SLA performance
- Drive continuous improvement in user support services
IT Budgeting
- Support IT budget planning with focus on CAPEX and OPEX tracking and execution
- Monitor day-to-day IT expenses to ensure alignment with approved budgets
- Maintain visibility of ongoing and committed costs (licenses, leases, contracts, projects)
Requirement:
- Prefers bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8–12 years in IT infrastructure and operations
- Relevant leadership experience in multi-site manufacturing environments
- Strong hands-on technical background (not purely managerial)
- Demonstrates strong ownership and operational discipline, with proven project management experience Ability to work under pressure in production environments
- Good communication with technical teams and site leadership
- Structured approach to incident and problem management
- Strong experience in: Network technologies (e.g., Fortinet, Aruba) o Servers & virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Storage, backup, and DR solutions o Endpoint management and patching
- Exposure to: Cloud or hybrid environments - Microsoft M365 and Azure cloud administration o Security tools (EDR, vulnerability management)
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
