Position: QA/QC INSPECTOR (ALUMINIUM FORMWORK)
1. Position Overview
The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring aluminium formwork products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and company quality standards through incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Quality Control & Inspection
- Ensure all products comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, customer requirements, and company quality standards.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process and ensure compliance with the approved Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
- Ensure inspection activities are carried out in accordance with established Quality Control procedures.
B. Material & Process Inspection
- Conduct incoming material inspections to verify material grade, dimensions, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Perform in-process inspections during cutting, machining, welding, assembly, and fabrication activities.
- Verify welding quality, fabrication workmanship, and assembly consistency.
- Ensure production processes comply with approved Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and quality requirements.
- Monitor process consistency and identify quality risks before defects occur.
C. Final Inspection
- Conduct final inspections before packing and delivery.
- Verify product dimensions, workmanship, appearance, labeling, identification, and inspection status.
- Ensure all accessories and components are complete and assembled correctly.
- Approve product release only after all quality requirements have been satisfied.
D. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
- Identify, segregate, and control non-conforming products.
- Prepare and maintain Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
- Recommend and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure timely closure of NCRs.
- Monitor defect trends and recommend quality improvement initiatives to reduce reject and rework.
E. Coordination & Site Support
- Coordinate with Production and Site teams on quality-related matters.
- Support site inspections and resolve quality issues when required.
- Provide technical guidance regarding product quality, inspection requirements, and compliance.
- Participate in customer inspections and factory acceptance inspections whenever required.
F. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate inspection records, quality reports, inspection checklists, and quality documentation.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
- Maintain traceability records for inspected products.
- Ensure all measuring and inspection equipment are calibrated and maintained according to the calibration schedule.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, supplier audits, and external certification audits (e.g., ISO 9001).
G. Quality Awareness & Continuous Improvement
- Promote quality awareness throughout the organization.
- Conduct quality awareness and inspection training for production personnel where required.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process improvement activities.
- Encourage compliance with quality standards and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
3. Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum three (3) years of QA/QC experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction-related industries.
- Experience in aluminium formwork manufacturing will be an added advantage.
Technical Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing drawings, and technical specifications.
- Good knowledge of dimensional inspection methods and tolerancing.
- Proficient in using measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Steel Tape, Combination Square, and other inspection tools.
- Knowledge of welding inspection and fabrication processes is an advantage.

Pay: RM1,850.00 - RM2,300.00 per month
