General Summary:

The Solutions Application & Systems Integration Engineer is required to support both the Sales, Engineering & Operation development needs from design, development, and implementation of software solutions to meet specific business or customer needs by bridging the gap between technical products and client requirements. This role is also required to work with both internal clients (SMT – Local & Export, Sales & Marketing Team) & external clients to understand their problems, configure and customize existing systems, provide technical support, and ensure smooth integration and long-term functionality.

His/her main duties with 70% workload in the uppermost stream of the Company Integrated System Value-Chain that requires a combination of strong technical skills in areas like 3D conceptual design, programming and system architecture, and strong communication and problem-solving abilities. The remaining 30% workload will be allocated to collaborate with the up-midstream & the mid-downstream system integrators linking CAD, CAE, and CAM software platforms, and connecting manufacturing facilities and business functions to ensure a seamless workflow.

Duties & Core Responsibilities

1. Client consultation: Work hand-in-hand with the SMT – Local & Export, Sales & Marketing Team in meeting with clients to gather and analyze requirements, and to identify how a company's products can solve their problems.
2. Solution design: Creating and designing technical solutions that align with both the client's needs and the company's products.
3. Implementation and customization: Configuring, customizing, and integrating software applications, which may include modifying code, creating scripts, or setting up APIs.
4. Testing and validation: Performing testing and analysis to ensure the solution meets functional and performance expectations and to troubleshoot any errors.
5. Technical support and training: Providing ongoing support, documenting procedures, and training users (namely internal & external clients) on how to use the new or modified application.
6. Collaboration: Working with internal teams such as sales, development, and quality assurance to ensure project success and communicate customer feedback.
7. Any other relevant duties in line with the development of Engineering - Data Management and System Integration Department assigned by the Management.

9. Other Core Responsibilities:

• Acquire the skills of creating & designing vinyl artwork via the information source from AutoCAD 2D, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw & SolidWorks ECAD (SW Schematic & SW Electrical 3D
• Integrate SMT SolidWorks applications output to SMT website to upgrade customer experience browsing through SMT website
• Generate and set up an SOP for FO workflow on a company-wide basis
• Utilize the SolidWorks application(s) capabilities to generate high-end and sophisticated company catalogs
• Explore and lead 3D Rapid-Prototyping for Sales & Marketing exhibition & training purposes
• 3DExperience cloud-based solutions to perform multidisciplinary fields including but not limited to front-end sales configurations, simulations (both static & dynamic) & sophisticated CRM (Customer Relationship Management) via Solidworks Composer to create technical communications like assembly instructions, manuals, and marketing materials directly from 3D CAD data
• Manage and improve SMT-LinkedIn “Page” posts & engagement metrics. Also, introduce other social media methodologies in promoting & boosting SMT reputation and market share locally & globally
• Initiate and pursue improvement activities, including participation in respective improvement activities or cost-effective projects.
• Coordinate troubleshooting design problems and advise countermeasures.
• Utilize different AI Adaptive Learning & AI Generative platforms such as Google Gemini, Google AI Studio & Google Notebook LM for marketing research & strategies, cataloging & customer centric presentation (virtual HVAC equipment placement similar to that of BIM)

Skills & Qualifications

1. Technical proficiency: Interests in attaining the knowledge of software “know-how” with moderate programming skills (e.g., AutoCAD 2D, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw, SolidWorks MCAD for 3D Conceptual Design, SolidWorks ECAD for Schematic & Electrical 3D, SolidWorks Composer, SolidWorks 3DExperience Cloud-Based, Vista & DriveWorks), software development environments, system architectures, and databases.
2. Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to solve complex issues and devise efficient solutions.
3. Communication: The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users, listen effectively to customer needs, and collaborate with various stakeholders.
4. Domain Knowledge: Experience or knowledge in specific industries may be necessary, in this case scenario, it would be HVAC manufacturing/industry.
5. Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is typically required, though experience and certifications can also be valuable.
