The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in overseeing the organization’s financial operations, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, and effective financial management while assisting in strategic planning and decision-making.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily financial operations.
- To monitor all costs and recommend measures to control them and establish an integrated cost management plan through product lining, minimal inventories and joint procurement
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in managing general ledger activities and account reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, and budget utilization.
- Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for cost control and profitability improvement
- Supervise and support finance and accounting staff when required.
Compliance & Internal Control
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Assist with external and internal audits.
- Monitor and improve internal control procedures.
- Support statutory reporting and tax submissions.
Team Support & Coordination
- Supervise and guide junior finance staff when required.
- Coordinate with other departments regarding financial matters.
- Support implementation of finance systems and process improvements.
Strategic Support
- Assist management with financial planning and business analysis.
- Prepare management reports and presentations for decision-making.
- Participate in special finance projects and operational initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and leadership skills
