Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager, Contract to oversee contract administration, tendering processes, cost control, and contract compliance for construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure contractual matters are managed effectively and projects are delivered within budget and in accordance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full contract administration process from pre-award to post-award stages.
  • Prepare, review, and evaluate tender documents, contract agreements, and Bills of Quantities (BQ).
  • Coordinate the tendering process, including calling quotations, evaluating submissions, and recommending suitable contractors and suppliers.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with company policies and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare cost estimates, project budgets, and monitor project costs to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Evaluate variation orders (VO), extension of time (EOT) claims, and final accounts.
  • Review contractors' progress claims and recommend payments based on work completed.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms and project specifications.
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve contractual and commercial issues.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks while protecting the company's interests.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records related to contracts, tenders, and project costs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Support project teams with commercial and contractual advice throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in contract administration or quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, tendering procedures, cost management, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with standard forms of construction contracts (e.g., PAM, CIDB, FIDIC) is an added advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and contract/QS software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: RM6,500.00 - RM9,500.00 per month
