About the role
We are looking for an Account Assistant and Admin to join our team at our location in Kuching, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that combines financial administration with general administrative support. As an Account Assistant and Admin, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of the resort. You will support the finance team in day-to-day accounting functions whilst also providing administrative assistance across various departments, ensuring smooth business operations and timely financial reporting.
Key responsibilities
Processing invoices, purchase orders and expense claims in accordance with established accounting procedures
Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring all transactions are properly documented and filed
Assisting with bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Preparing routine financial reports and statements under supervision
Supporting the accounts team with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and maintaining filing systems
Scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements and managing calendars for finance and administrative staff
Providing administrative support to various departments, including data entry and document preparation
Supporting human resources and payroll administrative functions as required
Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all company policies and procedures
What we're looking for
LCCI Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Accounting, or completion of secondary education with relevant accounting coursework
Proven experience as an Accounts Officer, Accounts Clerk or similar role within an accounting department
Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Sound knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices, including invoice processing and reconciliation
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively
Strong attention to detail and accuracy and have sense of urgency in all financial and administrative work
Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments
Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic
Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and business information
Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
Familiarity with hospitality or resort operations is advantageous
Experience with payroll administration would be beneficial
