Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Phase 1: Construction Phase

  • Monitor environmental compliance throughout construction activities to ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, permits, and project requirements.
  • Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits of construction sites, and monitor contractors' environmental performance.
  • Monitor and control dust, noise, vibration, erosion, sediment, wastewater, and other environmental impacts arising from construction activities.
  • Ensure proper management and disposal of construction waste and scheduled waste in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring programs required under the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
  • Investigate environmental incidents, recommend corrective actions, and prepare incident reports.
  • Liaise with DOE, environmental consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities on environmental matters.
  • Maintain environmental records, permits, inspection reports, monitoring data, and compliance documentation.

Phase 2: Operation Phase

  • Ensure refinery operations comply with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, licenses, and DOE requirements.
  • Monitor air emissions, wastewater discharge, wastewater treatment systems, and overall environmental performance.
  • Manage Scheduled Waste in accordance with Environmental Quality Regulations and company procedures.
  • Coordinate routine environmental monitoring for air quality, water quality, stack emissions, noise, groundwater, and other environmental parameters.
  • Monitor and improve the performance of pollution control equipment and environmental protection facilities.
  • Prepare and submit statutory environmental reports and maintain environmental compliance records.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Investigate environmental incidents, complaints, and non-conformities, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct environmental awareness training and promote environmental protection culture across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant environmental management experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, chemical, or heavy industrial sector.
  • Good knowledge of Malaysian environmental legislation, Environmental Quality Act 1974, and DOE regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in managing Scheduled Waste, environmental monitoring, pollution control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental Management Plan (EMP), and environmental permitting processes will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment, air emission control, and environmental protection systems in industrial facilities.
  • Experience in ISO 14001 Environmental Management System implementation or maintenance will be an added advantage.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and report writing skills.
  • Willing to work on-site in Gebeng, Kuantan.
  • Able to perform field inspections and support plant operations.
  • Candidates who are proficient in both English and Mandarin will be given preference.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
