Job description:
1. Job Purpose
To assist Project Manager/Senior Project Manager in managing and coordinating all post-project defect rectification, sudden maintenance issues and site support tasks. The role ensure timely inspections, accurate reporting, efficient contractor arrangement and proper follow-up until defects or maintenance works are fully resolved.
2. Key Responsibilities
Defect Inspection & Assessment
- Conduct site inspections for reported defects, maintenance issues and post-handover problems.
- Identify root causes and document defects with clear notes, photos and measurements.
- Prepare defect inspection reports for Project Manager/Senior Project Manager review.
Coordination & Follow-Up
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and service teams to arrange rectification work.
- Follow-up on repair progress to ensure timely and quality completion.
- Communicate schedules, access arrangements and requirements to clients and Project Manager/Senior Project Manager.
- Assist in arranging necessary permits (mall work permits, access passes and etc.)
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily or weekly updates on defect status.
- Maintain a defect tracking log (open items, in-progress, completed)
- Submit before/after repair photos and completion reports.
- Document recurring defects and recommend preventive measures.
Client & Stakeholder Support
- Attend to urgent calls raised by clients, tenants, Project Manager/Senior Project Manager or mall management.
- Provide professional on-site support and updates to clients when required.
- Assist Project Manager/Senior Project Manager in client handover, defect listing and closing documents.
Basic On-Site Tasks (Non-Technical)
(Not required to perform skilled repairs but must understand to work)
- Perform simple fixes when necessary (tightening screws, patches, minor touchups)
- Verify contractor workmanship after rectification.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all works comply with site safety, mall requirements and company SOPs.
- Ensure contractors follow safety protocols and protect existing finishes during repairs.
3. Required Qualification
- Minimum Certificate/Diploma in Interior Design, Construction, Building Maintenance or related field.
- Open to fresh graduates whose willing to learn or anyone with maximum 3 years experience in defect management, building maintenance, renovation or interior fit-out work are welcome to apply.
- Experience or willing to experience working in mall/retail environments is a strong advantage.
- Understanding of interior finishes i.e. carpentry, painting, electrical fixtures, plumbing basics and etc.
- Ability to read simple drawings and understand installation details.
- Familiarity with mall renovation rules, access permits and safety guidelines.
- Willing to travel frequently between project sites.
- Must have own transportation (motorcycle/car).
- Able to work occasional extended hours or weekends during urgent repairs.
- Familiar with renovation/construction tools & equipment.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM3,800.00 per month
