1. Ensure Compliance:
- Ensure the site employees adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994, Factory and Machinery Act (FMA) 1967, and other relevant applicable safety regulations in Malaysia.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
2. Safety Inspections and Audits:
- Perform daily site inspections to identify potential occupational hazards at workplace.
- Report and rectify unsafe working conditions, tools, or equipments, where applicable.
3. Risk Assessment and Hazards Control:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend acceptable standard control measures.
- Develop and maintain Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) documentation.
4. Safety Training:
- Conduct regular site meetings, site safety inductions, and training sessions for workers.
- Educate workers about emergency response protocols and safety work practices.
5. Incident Reporting and Investigation:
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe working conditions.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend preventive measures and action plans.
6. Documentation:
- Maintain records of safety audits, inspections, and safety training.
- Ensure that permits-to-work and other safety documentation are properly issued and recorded.
7. Liaison with Authorities and Stakeholders:
- Work closely with government agencies eg. DOSH - Department of Occupational Safety and Health/ Jabatan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan.
- Communicate safety concerns with PGC site managers, project manager, construction manager, sub-contractors, and workers at site.
8. Emergency Preparedness:
- Ensure the availability of Emergency first aid and firefighting equipment.
- Lead emergency drills and rescue exercises on-site.
