PhD Graduate Assistantship Opportunity (September 2026 Intake)

Are you passionate about electrochemistry, rare earth elements, and sustainable technologies?

I am looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate to join my research group at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP).

Research Project

Selective Electrochemical Recovery of High-Purity Nd–Pr Compounds for Sustainable Permanent Magnet Recycling

This project focuses on developing innovative electrochemical technologies for the sustainable recovery of neodymium (Nd) and praseodymium (Pr) from end-of-life permanent magnets, contributing to critical mineral security and the circular economy.

Malaysian citizen

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline

CGPA > 3.25

Available to commence in September 2026

Self-motivated, independent, and able to work effectively in a team

Good English communication and scientific writing skills

Experience in electrochemistry or mineral processing will be an added advantage.

Monthly allowance: RM2,800

Duration: 36 months
