We are a Singapore-headquartered organization seeking a Malaysia-based Accountant to support our Singapore entity. This role works closely with Singapore stakeholders and is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting corporate filings.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant based in Malaysia to manage full-spectrum accounting and corporate compliance for Singapore entities. The role requires hands-on experience with Singapore financial reporting, GST, and corporate filing requirements, and proficiency in Xero accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle full set of accounts for Singapore entities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements
- Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet schedules
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors
- Maintain fixed asset register where applicable
- Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Prepare cash flow reports and support budgeting exercises
- Maintain proper accounting documentation and records
- Maintain and manage accounting records using Xero
Singapore Compliance & Filing
- Prepare and support GST submissions
- Support preparation of Annual Financial Statements
- Coordinate with corporate secretary for Annual Return filings
- Support XBRL financial statement preparation
- Track statutory filing deadlines for Singapore entities
- Assist with AGM documentation where required
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretary
- Ensure compliance with Singapore accounting standards
- Maintain supporting schedules for corporate filings
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years accounting experience
- Experience handling Singapore entities is required
- Hands-on experience using Xero is required
- Familiar with Singapore GST requirements
- Knowledge of Singapore corporate filing processes
- Experience liaising with Singapore auditors and corporate secretaries
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in multi-entity environment
- Knowledge of XBRL filing requirements
- Experience with group consolidation
- Exposure to Singapore audit process
- Experience working remotely with Singapore-based stakeholders
Working Arrangement
- Based in Malaysia
- Remote / Hybrid arrangement
- Support Singapore business hours
- Reports to Finance Manager / Finance Director
