Job Purpose
To ensure occupational safety and health activities, monitoring environmental control systems, and ensuring compliance with applicable EHS legislation, local requirements, and management system standards. The role focuses on plant safety, environmental performance, fire safety compliance, and continual improvement of EHS systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Occupational Safety & Health Coordinator
- Maintain and continuously improve overall plant safety performance in accordance with Occupational Safety & Health legislation.
- Upload and maintain PTW, MOM, EHS scheduling, and EHS observations in the EHS portal in line with Global EHS requirements.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Local EHS Procedures (LEP).
- Conduct workplace safety inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate and participate in incident, accident, and near‑miss investigations, including root cause analysis and reporting.
- Support internal and external EHS audits, management reviews, and closure of audit findings.
- Maintain EHS documentation, statutory records, permits, inspection reports, and monitoring data.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements (DOSH, DOE, BOMBA), including submissions, renewals, inspections, and authority liaison.
2. Scrubber Operation, Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor, evaluate, and record the performance of site scrubbers to ensure effective air pollution control and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and review Scrubber Performance Monitoring Records in accordance with DOE requirements.
- Ensure completion and yearly submission scrubber stack monitoring reports.
3. Industrial Effluent Treatment Plant Operation, Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor and assess the Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS) to ensure proper operational performance and environmental compliance.
- Maintain and review IETS Performance Monitoring Records as required by DOE.
- Ensure testing and monthly online report submission for effluent from treatment plant.
4. Fire Safety Officer/ Fire Safety Manager
- Act as the designated Fire Safety Manager (FSM) / Fire Safety Officer (FSO) in compliance with the Fire Services Act and related regulations.
- Conduct departmental trainings to employees based on emergency scenarios.
- Maintain and improve existing fire fighting systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certified OSH Coordinator.
- Scrubber Competent Person (CePSO).
- IETS Competent Person (CePIETSO‑PCP / BP).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as Safety / EHS personnel in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of EHS legislation, environmental controls, and management systems.
- Good communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
