About the Job

We are seeking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support our finance and accounting operations. This role will work closely with the VP of Finance and be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and providing leadership to the accounting support function.


The ideal candidate has strong experience working with U.S.-based companies and can independently manage accounting responsibilities while mentoring and supporting team members responsible for daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, invoicing, payment tracking, and financial record maintenance, ensuring accuracy and timely execution of all accounting activities.
  • Manage and review client invoicing workflows through Sage Intacct, Salesforce, and other client billing portals, ensuring accurate, confidential, and timely billing processes.
  • Support Accounts Receivable activities, including invoice tracking, collections follow-up, payment application, credit memo processing, account reconciliations, and resolution of outstanding balances.
  • Support Accounts Payable processes including vendor bill processing, payment scheduling, reimbursement coordination, prepaid expense monitoring, and vendor account maintenance.
  • Perform monthly accounting close support including account reconciliations, working papers preparation, bank reconciliations, audit support documentation, and financial reporting assistance.
  • Maintain oversight of vendor records, W-9 documentation, banking information, and onboarding processes while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Assist with accounting reporting, financial analysis support, and operational tracking related to accounting deliverables and leadership reporting requirements.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and quality review for accounting support staff responsible for day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and accounting stakeholders to improve workflow efficiency, process documentation, and operational continuity.
  • Respond professionally to internal and external accounting-related inquiries, including billing concerns, payment follow-ups, vendor requests, and supporting documentation requests.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP principles, internal accounting controls, confidentiality standards, and company financial procedures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, while developing and maintaining accounting SOPs, documentation, and best practices to support organizational growth and continuity.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting support, and general accounting operations.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience is a must. Individual Contributors (ICs) operating at a managerial level are eligible, ideally with a minimum of one direct report.
  • Proven experience supporting U.S.-based companies and working within U.S. accounting processes, standards, and business operations is required.
  • Technical skills in Sage/Sage Intacct is required.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reconciliations, reporting, data analysis, formulas, and financial tracking.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office applications and mandatory hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally coordinate with executives, vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience working within professional services, executive search, consulting, recruiting, or similar corporate environments is highly preferred.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, professionalism, and ability to manage confidential financial and operational information securely.
