Application Engineer (FAE) – Semiconductor / EDA Tools

Location: Malaysia (Remote / Work From Home)
Travel: Frequent overseas business trips required

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer (FAE) to support global semiconductor customers in EDA tool deployment, debugging, and technical issue resolution.

This role offers the opportunity to work with international clients across Taiwan, China, United States, South Korea, and other regions, providing technical support for advanced IC design workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overseas technical support for EDA tools, including customer onboarding, tool introduction, and issue troubleshooting.
• Analyze and resolve customer technical issues, working closely with internal R&D teams.
• Support front-end IC design flow debugging and tool integration.
• Maintain technical documentation including tickets, presentation materials, and case studies.
• Communicate effectively with global customers and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Malaysian nationality.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Conformal and Formality debugging.
• Familiar with EDA tool workflows, including:
• Logic synthesis / Comprehensive flow
• Formal verification
• DFT flow
• LEC (Logic Equivalence Checking)
• Understanding of IC design flow from RTL to GDS.
• Familiar with RTL/Verilog, APR flow, physical design flow, or CAD-related environments.
• Experience with front-end tool integration, debugging, and scripting is preferred.
• Functional ECO experience is an added advantage.
• Must be willing to travel internationally.
• Age requirement: Below 50 years old.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive annual package up to RMB 800,000 (depending on experience and technical capability).
• Salary structure:
• 12 months fixed salary
• Performance-based year-end bonus
• Overseas travel expenses reimbursed according to company policy.
• Accommodation and travel allowances provided based on business travel requirements.
