Role Description The Senior Engineer role at Nexperia is a full-time, on-site position based in Negri Sembilan, Malaysia. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing semiconductor products and processes, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. Daily activities may include reviewing technical specifications, performing analyses and simulations, troubleshooting production issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reliability, and efficiency. The role involves preparing technical documentation, participating in design and process reviews, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and internal guidelines. The Senior Engineer will also mentor less experienced colleagues, contribute to project planning, and support strategic initiatives that align with Nexperia’s focus on innovation and operational excellence.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical expertise in semiconductor engineering, electronics, or related fields, with experience in device design, process development, or product engineering.
  • Proficiency in engineering analysis and problem-solving, including use of relevant simulation, modeling, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably within the semiconductor or electronics industry.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and quality systems; familiarity with ISO and automotive-related certifications (e.g., IATF 16949) is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing enhancements.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading junior engineers and contributing to knowledge sharing
