Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring.
  • Cook and plate dishes according to recipes and the chef's instructions.
  • Assist the Chef de Partie in managing a specific kitchen section (such as hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, or grill).
  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures (such as proper storage, labeling, and temperature control).
  • Keep the workstation clean and organized throughout the shift.
  • Monitor ingredient stock and report shortages or waste.
  • Receive and store deliveries according to kitchen procedures.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
  • Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
  • Help train or guide junior staff such as Commis 2 or kitchen helpers when required.
  • Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality.

Skills and qualifications

  • Basic culinary knowledge and cooking techniques.
  • Good knife skills and food preparation abilities.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM1,800.00 per month

Work Location: In person
