JOB SUMMARY
The QAQC Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) system throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures that all construction works, materials, and workmanship comply with project specifications, approved drawings, contract requirements, and relevant standards while maintaining proper quality documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Job Description)
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in accordance with the project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable Malaysian standards.
- Coordinate and conduct site inspections with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and relevant authorities as required.
- Prepare, review, and maintain QAQC documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Work Inspection Requests (WIR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), Method Statements, checklists, and inspection records.
- Ensure all construction materials delivered to the site comply with approved material submissions and project specifications before installation.
- Identify quality non-conformances, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and verify close-out of quality issues.
- Conduct regular quality inspections, audits, and surveillance to ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved procedures and workmanship standards.
- Maintain accurate quality records, testing reports, inspection reports, as-built documentation, and other project quality documentation.
- Liaise closely with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning activities, project handover inspections, and defect rectification works during the Defects Liability Period (DLP).
- Ensure compliance with CIDB Malaysia requirements, project specifications, and applicable statutory regulations.
- Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement across the project teams.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant QAQC experience in building construction projects.
- Experience working with a main contractor is highly preferred.
- Sound knowledge of QAQC procedures, construction methodologies, project specifications, Malaysian Standards (MS), and industry best practices.
- Hands-on experience in preparing and managing QAQC documentation, including ITP, Method Statements, WIR, MIR, NCR, material approvals, and inspection records.
- Able to read, interpret, and review engineering drawings, construction details, and technical specifications.
- Familiar with reinforced concrete works, architectural finishes, waterproofing, M&E interface inspections, and building envelope quality requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently under tight project schedules.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of AutoCAD and document control systems is an added advantage.
- Possess a valid Class D driving license, own transport, and be willing to travel between project sites within Sabah when required.
- Membership with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (Graduate Engineer or Professional Engineer) will be an added advantage.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
