1. Develop comprehensive structural designs for buildings, infrastructure, and other construction projects using industry-standard software and methodologies

2. Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet engineering codes and safety standards

3. Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for construction teams

4. Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural requirements into overall project designs

5. Review and evaluate structural proposals and alternative design solutions to optimise cost-effectiveness and constructability

6. Perform site inspections and assessments to evaluate existing structures and identify design considerations

7. Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and environmental standards

8. Provide technical support during construction and respond to design queries from contractors and site teams

9. Maintain detailed project documentation and records throughout the design process

Job requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field

2. Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in structural design and engineering

3. Proficiency with structural design software such as AutoCAD

4. Strong knowledge of building codes and standards relevant to Malaysia and international practices

5. Solid understanding of structural analysis principles, load calculations, and material properties

6. Excellent technical drawing and documentation skills

7. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

8. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams

9. Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent qualification is highly desirable

10. Experience with building information modelling (BIM) is an advantage
