Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing customer relationships within the power generation, utility, petrochemical, manufacturing, and heavy industrial sectors. The role will focus primarily on promoting Osborne's Babbitt bearing manufacturing and repair services while progressively introducing advanced reliability solutions including condition monitoring, vibration analysis, predictive maintenance, balancing services, and related engineering services.

The successful candidate will spend a significant portion of their time visiting customer facilities, understand operational challenges, and developing long-term commercial relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow sales of Babbitt bearing manufacturing and repair services across Malaysia.
  • Visit power stations, utility companies, OEMs, EPC contractors, petrochemical plants, refineries, and industrial facilities.
  • Generate new business opportunities through customer visits, networking, referrals, and market intelligence.
  • Maintain and update customer activities, opportunities, and forecasts within the company CRM system.
  • Prepare and follow up quotations, technical proposals, and commercial offers.
  • Coordinate with technical and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are properly understood and executed.
  • Develop opportunities for condition monitoring, vibration analysis, predictive maintenance, remote monitoring, balancing services, and reliability solutions.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Attend industry exhibitions, conferences, and customer events when required.
  • Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and market feedback to management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–7 years of industrial sales experience.
  • Experience selling engineering services, rotating equipment services, maintenance solutions, bearings, turbines, pumps, compressors, reliability services, or industrial equipment will be highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of power generation, utilities, oil & gas, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage customer visits throughout Malaysia.
  • Valid Malaysian driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
