Responsibilities

Accounts Manager

Perunding Teknik Glokal Sdn Bhd (PTGSB)

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Perunding Teknik Glokal Sdn Bhd is an established Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy firm involved in water supply, infrastructure, building, drainage, sewerage and project management consultancy services throughout Sabah.

## Key Objectives of the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Improving company cash flow through effective claims preparation, submission and collection.

* Ensuring timely submission and monitoring of consultancy fee claims.

* Strengthening financial controls and reporting systems.

* Maintaining full compliance with SST, taxation and regulatory requirements.

* Ensuring all professional registrations, practising certificates and company licences remain valid and renewed on time.

* Improving office administration, asset management and staff support systems.

* Supporting management with accurate financial and operational information for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

### Financial Management & Accounting

* Manage the full set of accounts and accounting records.

* Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.

* Monitor company cash flow, receivables and payables.

* Prepare annual budgets and expenditure forecasts.

* Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks and government agencies.

* Ensure timely statutory payments and regulatory compliance.

* Recommend improvements to financial controls and business processes.

### Consultancy Claims & Revenue Management

* Prepare, submit and monitor consultancy fee claims for government and private sector projects.

* Maintain a comprehensive claims tracking system.

* Follow up aggressively and professionally on outstanding claims and payments.

* Coordinate with engineers and project managers to obtain supporting documents.

* Prepare monthly reports on claim status, outstanding receivables and collection performance.

* Assist management in improving billing efficiency and reducing collection periods.

### Taxation, SST & Regulatory Compliance

* Manage SST registration, reporting and submissions.

* Handle customs and tax-related documentation where applicable.

* Ensure compliance with all relevant Malaysian tax and regulatory requirements.

* Monitor regulatory changes affecting professional consultancy firms.

* Coordinate tax planning initiatives with external advisors.

### Professional Registrations & Corporate Compliance

* Monitor and manage renewals for:

  * BEM registrations

  * Practising Certificates

  * MOF registrations

  * CIDB registrations

  * Company licences and permits

  * Professional memberships

  * Insurance policies

  * Other statutory certifications

* Maintain a digital compliance calendar with advance reminders and reporting.

### Office & Asset Management

* Manage office administration and procurement.

* Maintain inventory records and fixed asset registers.

* Ensure company vehicles, computers, printers and office equipment are properly maintained.

* Improve document control, filing and record management systems.

* Implement digitalisation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce administrative workload.

### Business Process Improvement

* Introduce systems and automation to improve productivity.

* Recommend digital tools for finance, administration and project tracking.

* Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for administrative and financial functions.

* Support management in scaling the company for future growth.

## Qualifications

* Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.

* Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MIA or equivalent) are an advantage.

* Minimum 5 years relevant working experience.

* Experience in engineering consultancy, construction, professional services or project-based industries is highly preferred.

* Strong accounting and financial management knowledge.

* Experience handling payroll and statutory submissions.

* Knowledge of SST and Malaysian tax regulations.

* Excellent organisational and follow-up skills.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

### Highly Advantageous

* Experience managing consultancy or construction-related claims.

* Experience with government projects and contract administration.

* Knowledge of BEM, MOF, CIDB and professional registration requirements.

* Familiarity with project-based billing and fee collection processes.

* Experience implementing digital systems, automation or process improvements.

* Experience using Xero, SQL, AutoCount or similar accounting platforms.

* Experience preparing management dashboards and KPI reporting.
