Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Civil Engineer role based in Nilai. The Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, and implementation of Non-Revenue Water projects, including pipeline networks, metering systems, and related water infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing civil engineering designs and drawings, performing hydraulic and stormwater calculations, and assisting with field investigations, site inspections, and data collection. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and client utilities, contributing to project planning and scheduling, and ensuring designs meet technical standards, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements. The Civil Engineer will also assist in preparing technical reports, proposals, and presentations to support NRW awareness and capacity-building initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to apply civil engineering principles to water and NRW projects.
• Experience working as a Civil Engineer within water, wastewater, or infrastructure projects, demonstrating familiarity with utility environments.
• Competence in Planning and project coordination, including scheduling tasks, managing priorities, and supporting project delivery within agreed timelines.
• Knowledge of Stormwater Management practices and related hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, design standards, and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline; eligibility for professional registration or licensure is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards, and to use relevant design and CAD software tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work on-site in Nilai and to conduct fieldwork as required, including site visits and inspections.
• Prior exposure to Non-Revenue Water, water audits, or utility operations is beneficial but not mandatory.
