High Voltage (HV) Shift Chargeman

Supervise, monitor and execute safe operation, maintenance and switching of electrical systems (typically 11 kV and 33 kV, and low-voltage systems as required) during assigned shifts to ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply, full compliance with Energy Commission regulations and BASF Petronas Chemicals Sdn. Bhd. safety standards, and timely coordination of fault response, restoration and handover activities.

Job Description:

1. Monitor HV switchgear including transformers, circuit breakers, protection relays, and associated equipment during the shift
2. Operate HV & LV switching and isolation activities according to approved switching procedures and permit-to-work systems as per EC & BPC standards
3. Perform daily/shift inspections, log readings and report anomalies. Maintain accurate shift handover notes, job logs and permit records; provide clear shift transition briefings.
4. Respond to alarms, disturbances and faults including carry out fault isolation, troubleshooting, and coordinate restoration of supply.
5. Execute and oversee routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs as permitted; including monitoring contractors for work execution
6. Ensure compliance with all safety policies: lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety work permits, hot work permits, confined space and PPE usage.
7. Participate in safety investigations, incident reporting and root-cause analysis when required.

Job Requirement:

1. Experience particularly in petrochemical, chemical , power plant or O&G industry for more than 7 years
2. Posses minimum B0 (11kV) certificate by Energy Commission of Malaysia
3. Have experience working in shift roster for more than 7 years
4. Have a strong knowledge in electrical systems especially in troubleshooting
5. Command good communication & leadership skills to lead in shift works
6. Command good knowledge in Microsoft Office & SAP
7. Strong knowledge in emergency response procedure and first aid
