Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Safety Professional role based in Seremban. The Safety Professional will monitor and promote workplace health and safety practices across project sites and facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and client requirements. Daily responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits, and recommending corrective and preventive measures. The role involves planning and delivering safety training, leading toolbox talks, and coaching team members and contractors on safe work procedures. The Safety Professional will also investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare reports, track corrective actions, and support continuous improvement of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply best practices in an engineering and construction environment.
- Experience with Environment Health and Safety (EHS) management systems, including development, implementation, and monitoring of EHS policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in Safety Training, including designing and delivering engaging training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings for diverse teams.
- Hands-on experience in Accident Investigation, including root-cause analysis, incident reporting, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; recognized safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Knowledge of local occupational safety and health regulations and standards, with the ability to interpret and apply them on-site.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment.
- Previous experience in industrial, chemical, or construction projects is highly beneficial.
