Responsibility

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure wire harness products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements. The role involves managing production personnel, optimizing workflow, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities to achieve production schedules and delivery targets.
  • Monitor production output, efficiency, and resource utilization to ensure operational objectives are met.
  • Coordinate manpower allocation, shift scheduling, and workload distribution to maximize productivity.
  • Ensure production processes comply with work instructions, engineering specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address bottlenecks and operational issues.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all wire harness products meet established quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Investigate production defects, customer complaints, and non-conformance issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work closely with the Quality team to maintain compliance with quality management systems and manufacturing standards.
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement among production personnel.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and motivate production operators, technicians, and line leaders to achieve departmental goals.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure proper onboarding and skills development for new employees.
  • Foster teamwork, discipline, and effective communication across all production functions.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a safe working environment.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze production data, downtime, scrap, and labor efficiency to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in process optimization, equipment upgrades, and automation projects.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and process validation activities.

Inventory and Resource Management

  • Coordinate with Planning, Purchasing, and Shipping,Store departments to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor inventory usage and minimize material waste, scrap, and rework.
  • Ensure production equipment, tools, and fixtures are properly maintained and available for operation.

Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, quality, delivery performance, downtime, and labor efficiency.
  • Present production performance updates and improvement plans to management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in wire harness, cable assembly, automotive, or electronics manufacturing.
  • At least 1–2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month

Work Location: In person
