Role Description
Proficient Inspection Services Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified and experienced NDT Technician to join our team in Bintulu, Sarawak.
The NDT Technician will be responsible for performing non-destructive testing and inspection activities on materials, components, piping systems, pressure vessels, tanks, and welded structures to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Key responsibilities include conducting inspections using approved NDT methods, preparing and calibrating inspection equipment, interpreting test results, preparing inspection reports, and maintaining accurate documentation. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, supervisors, and project teams while ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform NDT inspections using approved methods and procedures.
- Conduct c-Scan, UUTG, DPT, MPT, RVI, PMI, Hardness Testing, and other assigned NDT activities.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain NDT equipment and instruments.
- Interpret inspection results and identify defects or discontinuities.
- Prepare and submit accurate inspection reports and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with applicable codes, standards, procedures, and client specifications.
- Follow company HSE policies and maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and clients regarding inspection findings and technical requirements.
- Maintain inspection records and support quality audits when required.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and equipment maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties assigned by management related to inspection operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in NDT Inspection.
- Valid NDT certification (PCN, ASNT, or equivalent) in relevant inspection methods.
- Experience in c-Scan, UUTG, DPT, MPT, RVI, PMI, and Hardness Testing.
- Diploma in Engineering or related technical field.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometric drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
- Good knowledge of applicable NDT codes, standards, and industry practices.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation and report-writing skills.
- Basic proficiency in English.
- Willing to work at project sites and industrial environments.
- Malaysian citizen (Sarawakian candidates are preferred).
- Able to join immediately will be an added advantage.
