Responsibilities
Quantity Surveyor (QS) Job Scope
1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting
Assist in preparing cost estimates and project budgets.
Calculate quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ).
Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Support cost comparison and analysis.
2. Tender & Procurement
Assist in preparing tender documents.
Request and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare tender summaries and recommendation reports.
Support procurement and purchasing activities.
3. Contract Administration
Assist in preparing contracts, work orders, and subcontract agreements.
Maintain project documentation and records.
Monitor contract compliance and project variations.
4. Progress Claims & Payments
Prepare and submit progress claims.
Verify subcontractor claims and invoices.
Assist in payment certification and payment tracking.
Monitor project cash flow and payment status.
5. Site Measurement & Valuation
Conduct site measurements and quantity take-offs.
Verify completed work against project drawings.
Assist in valuation of completed works.
Record and monitor variation orders (VO).
6. Cost Control
Track project costs against approved budgets.
Monitor material and labor costs.
Prepare cost reports and updates for management.
Identify potential cost overruns and report accordingly.
7. Project Coordination
Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, consultants, and contractors.
Attend project meetings when required.
Follow up on project documentation and approvals.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Technology, or related field.
Fresh graduate or 1–2 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of construction materials and costing.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and QS software.
Good analytical and numerical skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
