Position: Production Manager (Plastic Manufacturing)

Position Overview

Our client are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to oversee and manage all production operations in plastic manufacturing plant, including blow molding, injection molding, and assembly processes. This role is responsible for ensuring production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met while driving operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

- Lead, plan, and control daily production operations to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements

- Optimize manpower, machine utilization, and material usage to achieve productivity targets

- Monitor production performance, downtime, and process deviations to ensure consistent output and quality

2. Quality & Rejection Reduction

- Identify root causes of defects and lead corrective and preventive actions

- Work closely with QA/QC to ensure compliance with product quality standards and customer requirements

- Implement process control measures to reduce scrap, rejection, and rework rates

3. Continuous Improvement & 5S

- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste

- Implement and sustain 5S practices across production areas

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork

4. Manpower & Leadership

- Supervise, train, and motivate production teams including supervisors, technicians, and operators

- Plan manpower allocation to ensure efficient workflow

- Conduct performance evaluations and enforce company policies and discipline

5. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations

- Promote safe working practices and proper use of PPE

- Maintain housekeeping standards and workplace safety at all times

6. Reporting & Coordination

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for management review

- Report on production performance, rejection rates, and improvement initiatives

- Coordinate with QA, Maintenance, Warehouse, Planning, and HR teams for smooth operations

7. Inventory & Material Control

- Monitor and control raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory

- Optimize usage of resin, masterbatch, and regrind materials to minimize waste

- Ensure material availability in coordination with planning and warehouse teams

8. Quality Management System

- Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System

- Ensure compliance with SOPs and customer quality requirements

- Participate in internal and external audits as required

Job Requirements

- Diploma or Degree in Plastic Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field

- Minimum 5 years of experience in plastic manufacturing (blow molding and injection molding)

- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and people management skills

- Hands-on experience in machine troubleshooting and process optimization

- Knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, and 5S practices

- Able to work independently and report to senior management

- Preferably available on short notice

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
