Job description: Position Overview As an Operator / Excavator Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the proper functioning of heavy machinery used in marine, civil engineering, and construction projects. This role is crucial to ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently at project sites in Jelutong, Penang. Key Responsibilities Perform inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of excavators, operators, and other heavy machinery. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in machinery. Replace defective parts and perform routine servicing (e.g., oil changes, filter replacement, greasing). Maintain accurate maintenance records and report major issues to the supervisor. Ensure all repair work complies with safety and quality standards. Support site operations when required, including machinery testing after maintenance. Qualifications Minimum 1–2 years of working experience as a mechanic for heavy machinery (e.g., excavator, backhoe, loader). Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems. Ability to use diagnostic tools and mechanical repair equipment. Responsible, hardworking, and able to work independently. Based in Jelutong, Penang or willing to relocate.
