Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Registered Nurse role based in Kuantan at IIUM Medical Specialist Centre. The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions in accordance with clinical standards and hospital policies. Daily responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, administering medications and treatments, assisting in procedures, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. The role involves supporting physicians and allied health professionals, educating patients and families on treatment plans and post-discharge care, and ensuring infection prevention and safety protocols are followed. The Registered Nurse will also participate in shift handovers, respond to emergencies, contribute to continuous quality improvement activities, and provide respectful, culturally sensitive care aligned with the values of IMSC.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a recognized institution; post-basic or specialty certification is an advantage.
• Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, medication administration, and nursing procedures across medical and/or surgical disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate nursing documentation and follow hospital protocols and clinical guidelines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment, manage multiple priorities, and respond calmly to emergencies.
• Commitment to patient safety, infection prevention, ethical practice, and continuous professional development.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required for 24/7 patient care.
