About the role

Arkitek Summaz is seeking a talented Graduate Architect to join our growing Architecture team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity for recently qualified architects to develop their professional skills and contribute to meaningful architectural projects. As a Graduate Architect, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining practical experience in design, project delivery, and client management whilst supporting the development of innovative architectural solutions for our diverse clientele.

What you'll be doing

1. Assisting in the preparation of architectural drawings, specifications, and design documentation using relevant CAD and design software

2. Supporting the design development process from initial concept through to detailed design stages

3. Conducting site surveys and measurements to inform design proposals

4. Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate design intent

5. Undertaking research into building regulations, planning requirements, materials and relevant design standards

6. Assisting with building information modelling (BIM) and technical coordination

7. Contributing to the preparation of planning applications and regulatory submissions

8. Attending site meetings and site inspections to monitor construction progress

9. Participating in team meetings and design reviews to develop professional expertise

What we're looking for

1. A recognised degree in Architecture or equivalent professional qualification recognised by the Local Architectural Board

2. Minimum of three (3) years working experience and basic knowledge of C&S and M&E shop drawings

3. Proficiency in architectural CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar programmes

4. Strong drawing and visualisation skills with the ability to communicate design concepts clearly

5. Knowledge of building regulations, planning requirements, and architectural standards relevant to Malaysia

6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team

7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation

8. Experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or other design visualisation tools

9. Time management and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

10. Willingness to undertake site visits and travel when required
