About the role

Permai Rainforest Resort is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Procurement Executive to join our team in Kuching, Sarawak. This is a full-time position based at our resort location. As Procurement Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing our supply chain and procurement operations, ensuring that the resort maintains efficient, cost-effective sourcing of goods and services. Your work will directly support the smooth operation of our hospitality services. This role offers the opportunity to work in a unique rainforest setting whilst managing key business operations that keep our resort functioning at its best.

Key responsibilities

1. Sourcing and identifying reliable suppliers for food, beverages, materials, equipment and other goods and services required by the resort

2. Requesting quotations from multiple vendors and comparing prices, quality and delivery terms to ensure value for money

3. Negotiating contracts and purchase agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing

4. Processing purchase orders and managing the ordering system to ensure timely delivery of goods

5. Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining relationships with key vendors

6. Verifying invoices and ensuring accuracy of billing before processing payments

7. Maintaining accurate records of all procurement transactions, contracts and supplier information

8. Identifying opportunities to reduce costs whilst maintaining quality standards across all purchases

9. Liaising with different departments within the resort to understand their procurement needs and requirements

10. Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures in all procurement activities

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain roles, preferably within the hospitality or tourism industry

2. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships

3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail

4. Proficiency with procurement systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and data management tools

5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively across departments

6. Understanding of procurement best practices and cost management principles

7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously

8. A proactive approach to identifying process improvements and cost-saving opportunities

9. Knowledge of hospitality supply chain requirements would be advantageous

10. Diploma or degree qualification in procurement, supply chain management, quality control or related field preferred
