Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Assistant role based in Kuching, with some work-from-home flexibility depending on operational needs. The Assistant will support daily childcare activities, including helping to supervise children, preparing learning materials, and assisting with age-appropriate play and educational programs. The role includes maintaining cleanliness and safety in classrooms and common areas, organizing toys and supplies, and supporting meal and snack times. The Assistant will help with attendance tracking, basic record-keeping, and communication with parents or guardians as directed by senior staff. The position also involves collaborating with teachers and caregivers, participating in centre events, and following all childcare, health, and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience or strong interest in working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or similar setting.
• Ability to support educational and play-based activities, including reading, basic crafts, and simple learning games.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, colleagues, and families.
• Organizational skills to help manage materials, maintain orderly spaces, and support daily routines.
• Responsibility and reliability, including punctuality and the ability to follow instructions and centre procedures.
• Basic understanding of health, hygiene, and safety practices in a childcare environment.
• Ability to work on-site in Kuching and adapt to a hybrid work arrangement where some administrative tasks may be done from home.
• Relevant coursework or certification in early childhood education, childcare, or a related field is an advantage but not always required.
• First aid or CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it, is considered beneficial.
