Summary
The Human Resource Manager acts as a strategic partner to support business goals through effective people management and HR initiatives. This role oversees all HR functions, including workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and HR operations.
Key responsibilities include driving talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, and retention programs while ensuring compliance with Malaysian labor laws and company policies. The role provides guidance to managers on people-related matters, leads the HR team, and utilizes HR metrics and analytics to improve organizational effectiveness, employee experience, and overall business performance.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic business partner to management by translating business objectives into effective people strategies and HR initiatives.
- Lead and oversee the end-to-end HR function, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, compensation & benefits, learning & development, and HR operations.
- Drive talent management strategies such as succession planning, leadership development, and high-potential employee programs to support long-term organizational growth.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve performance management and reward frameworks aligned with company goals and productivity outcomes.
- Champion employee engagement, culture building, and retention strategies, using data and feedback to improve employee experience.
- Provide guidance to line managers on people management matters, including disciplinary actions, grievance handling, coaching, and organizational change.
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian labor laws, statutory requirements, and internal policies while proactively managing HR risks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team, ensuring capability building and effective delivery of both strategic and operational HR initiatives.
- Utilize HR metrics and analytics to support decision-making, track HR effectiveness, and recommend continuous improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong working knowledge of Malaysian employment laws, statutory compliance, and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to operate as a strategic HR partner while remaining hands-on in execution.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Analytical, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced or evolving organization.
