This is a full-time, remote internship role for a Product Intern at Founders Doc.
In this dynamic and tech-forward role, you will sit at the intersection of startup culture, legal-tech, and agile product development. You will be actively involved in optimising and scaling our newly launched AI contract review platform (*************). Working closely with our internal teams, you will leverage generative AI tools to accelerate user research, analyse data, and run rigorous quality testing on our AI outputs. Development Milestones
We believe in structured growth. During this internship, your journey will look like this:
- Months 1-2: Build a deep understanding of Founders Doc’s product architecture, target users, and the core mechanics behind our AI contract review tool. Master our internal product workflows, learn to run initial data validations on the AI's output, and assist the team in conducting routine market and competitor research.
- Months 3-4: Take independent ownership of specific user feedback channels and testing tracks for ************* Learn to confidently use AI tools to clean datasets, analyse feature usage performance metrics, and assist in drafting clear product requirements (PRDs) for new AI feature enhancements.
- Months 5-6: Confidently pitch product/process improvements based on data insights, drive cross-functional alignment between tech and marketing for new feature drops, and actively manage a minor tool or feature launch from concept to implementation.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
AI Product Management & User Research
- AI Feature Optimisation: Participate in user testing and feedback sessions specifically focused on our AI contract review platform (*************). Actively gather, synthesise, and transform user insights into actionable recommendations for UI/UX and feature improvements.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive market research to identify customer pain points in contract management, track the competitive landscape of AI legal tools, and stay ahead of legal-tech industry trends.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Gather, interpret, and prioritise product requirements from internal teams to ensure the technical roadmap aligns with real-world business needs.
AI Quality Control & Data Operations
- AI Accuracy Auditing: Actively test and audit the AI contract review tool. Feed various standard legal documents (such as NDAs, employment agreements, or term sheets) into the platform to check for cross-references, structural consistency, false positives, or bugs.
- Dataset Management: Gather and organise standard legal document templates to use as training data and benchmarks for testing the AI's review accuracy.
- Product Analytics: Analyse user behavior, click maps, and platform metrics on ************* to understand feature adoption and make informed, data-driven product recommendations.
- Tactical Tool Development: Leverage generative AI to build internal tactical tools, automation workflows, or low-code/no-code prototypes to increase the productivity of the broader product team.
Operations & Project Management
- Task Ownership: Help manage the product backlog, ensuring technical bug fixes or feature requests related to the AI tool are organised, clearly documented, and delivered on schedule.
- User Advocacy: Serve as a dedicated advocate for the end-user, ensuring that complex legal AI processes feel simple, seamless, and trustworthy for the users.
Qualifications
- AI-Fluent & Tool Savvy: Highly proficient in using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for data analysis, brainstorming technical workflows, or generating quick prototypes/code snippets.
- Eye for Detail: Exceptional attention to detail—crucial for auditing AI-generated outputs, catching edge cases where the AI stumbles, and ensuring feature requirements are unambiguous.
- User Empathy & Natural Curiosity: A deep, natural curiosity to delve into data insights and a strong sense of empathy to truly comprehend how users interact with AI contract review tools.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to take large amounts of messy user data or legal edge cases and distill them into clear, structured product requirements.
- Exceptional Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between technical engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders (sales, operations, and users).
- Startup & Tech Interest: A genuine interest in entrepreneurship, product management, or the legal-tech ecosystem. You don't need a law degree, but you must be eager to learn the lingo of legal documents and contracts.
- Background: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, UX Design, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Pay: $500.00 - $1,000.00 per month
