Job Description

Responsibilities

Basic Salary : RM5000

Location: Sarawak

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm & 8:30 pm to 12:30 am


Primary Responsibilities

• Managing the coordination of inbound freight flow while prioritizing daily tasks and weekly operational goals.

• Engaging in communication with suppliers, forwarders, brokers, carriers, and operations to swiftly resolve discrepancies.

• Taking charge of logistics operations, including securing shipment rates, negotiating with logistics service providers, and choosing 3PL partners.

• Monitoring and expediting shipments, effectively addressing issues related to quality, quantity, and schedule discrepancies.

• Enhancing shipment efficiency by minimizing freight costs and evaluating the services of freight forwarders.

• Validating and resolving any shipping or customs documentation issues, encompassing PODs, BOLs, and carrier confirmations.


Daily Tasks:

  • Monitor ocean and air shipments and inform the planning team about any changes in ETA.
  • Review new Purchase Orders (POs) entered by Procurement in the Logistics Tracker for all modes (Ocean/Air/Parcel/Land).
  • Make bookings with freight forwarders based on the target ETA.
  • Track and trace incoming shipments, update ETA in the Logistics Tracker, and ensure it meets the target ETA.
  • Notify the planner and buyer if the ETA changes and misses the target.
  • Input container numbers and related information into the Logistics Tracker.
  • Confirm container loading with freight forwarders and follow up with buyers and shippers if necessary.
  • Update Detention/Demurrage files and Smartsheet and send out DD report emails.
  • Audit freight forwarders' invoices for accuracy, file disputes if needed, and notify the AP team.
  • Follow up with freight forwarders for unresolved credit note disputes.
  • Update the transit time report for the US lane.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business-related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain
  • Experience handling FCL and LCL shipments
  • Knowledge of ocean freight and North American shipping lanes is an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
