Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Control (QC) Manager to lead laboratory and quality control operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, laboratory efficiency, regulatory compliance, and adherence to quality, safety, health, and environmental standards. The successful candidate will lead the QC team, oversee laboratory activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all quality control activities covering raw materials, in-process testing, and finished products.
- Ensure analytical accuracy, data integrity, and effective statistical process control (SPC) monitoring.
- Coordinate and oversee external accredited laboratory testing, including sample management and result verification.
- Manage laboratory operations, ensuring equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementation of new instruments.
- Support laboratory equipment and facility maintenance, including first-line troubleshooting and coordination with vendors for major repairs and specialized services.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain full compliance with Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) requirements, including wastewater treatment systems, scrubbers, LEV systems, and scheduled waste management.
- Participate in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committee activities, including workplace inspections, emergency preparedness programs, PTW toolbox briefings, ventilation monitoring, and 6S initiatives.
- Manage departmental budgets (CAPEX and OPEX), including laboratory consumables, reagents, gases, spare parts, and cost optimization projects.
- Lead and develop the QC team while ensuring effective collaboration with production, maintenance, and cross-functional departments.
- Conduct investigations into quality issues, deviations, and non-conformances, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Provide operational and technical support to ensure uninterrupted laboratory activities.
- Support business operations during critical situations, including extended working hours when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Quality Control, Laboratory Operations, or Manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, laboratory operations, and SHE compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Experience in quality investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Proficient in data analysis, reporting, and statistical process control (SPC).
Pay: RM9,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
